Work with me

14+ years at Meta, TikTok, Booking.com and startups, 0-to-1, plus contract work for HSBC and Upwork, and now AI and agentic systems. I'm open to full-time, part-time and fractional roles, contract engineering, and project builds, whichever actually fits the problem.

Hiring for a role rather than a project? Tell me about the team.

How I usually help

Full-time, part-time or fractional

For teams hiring an engineer, not renting one.

I spent 14+ years as a full-time engineer at Meta, TikTok, Booking.com and startups, leading teams, owning systems 0-to-1, and shipping tooling that other teams adopted. I'm open to permanent roles, part-time, and fractional arrangements.

AI solution design & agent development

For teams adding AI to a product, or building on agents.

Architecture for LLM-backed features and agentic systems: what to build, where the model actually belongs, and how it holds up once real traffic hits it. Built on the OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, with the same engineering discipline as everything else I ship.

Architecture & technical leadership

For teams that have engineers but need senior direction.

System design, technical strategy, and the calls that are expensive to get wrong. I've led teams and shipped tooling adopted across seven teams at Meta. I've made these decisions at a scale where mistakes are costly.

Contract engineering

For teams that need a senior pair of hands, now.

I embed with your team and ship production code. Full stack (React, TypeScript, Node, Postgres, GraphQL), plus the infrastructure around it. This is what I did at HSBC, rewriting their trading platform from Ext.JS to a fully functional React SPA.

Zero-to-one product build

For founders who need the whole thing built.

Idea to live and taking payments. Code, database, auth, Stripe, deployment, monitoring. All of it. I've done this for my own product, practice-interview.com, so I'm not guessing at the parts most contractors hand back to you.

Most projects are some mix of these. If yours doesn't fit neatly, that's normal. Describe it and we'll work it out.

How it works

  1. 1

    A 20-minute call

You tell me the problem. I tell you honestly whether I'm the right person. Sometimes I'm not, and I'll say so.

  2. 2

    Scope and timeline

You get a written scope, a timeline, and a price. No hourly surprises.

  3. 3

    I build, you see it

Regular working demos, not status reports. You know where things stand at all times.

  4. 4

    Handover that holds up

Documented, deployed, and yours. Your team can run it without me.

Probably not a fit if…

  • You need a template site or a WordPress theme customised; you'll get better value elsewhere, and I'll tell you that on the call.
  • The scope is "we'll figure it out as we go" with no budget range in mind.

I'd rather say this upfront than waste your call.
